How To Write Educations Section In CV?

Every single information entered by the applicant in his/her CV supposedly designed for the purpose of appealing the prospective employer and for standing out of the crowd among applicants. This is no exception when it comes to significant section of CV like Educational details. Some of the useful tips on writing this section are given below:

•    The education section should find place in the fourth place of your CV, the first section being the personal information, the second being desired employment/occupational field and the third being work experience section.

•    The education section should begin with the type of your education whether it is university education, technical college education, school education. From this data, your employer can be able to identify whether you are a suitable candidate for the position. If you are a graduate, enter the name of the university from where you got your graduation and also mention the city and country to which the university belongs. Here, you should also provide information regarding the date of starting and ending your degree course and importantly it is better to include your overall GPA grade or GPA marks of major subjects.

•    In this section, do not forget to enter your area of specialty (i.e.)  if you have done any specific courses that are relevant to the job for which you are applying, do not fail to include those information in your education section. Many employers will focus on the area of specialty entered by the applicant and this will surely impress the employer.

•    Do not forget to include details regarding your level of education, like whether you are a bachelor degree holder or master’s degree holder or a Ph.D. holder, etc…Also, mention the type of your education like whether you have acquired the degree through correspondence course or through regular classes or through part-time classes.

•    If you are currently doing any course at the time of applying for the job, do not fail to provide details of the course as well. The details regarding your continuing education will give an impression to the employer that you are very much interested in self-development.

•    Apart from the above-mentioned data, you can also provide information on any recognitions, awards and scholarships acquired by you during the course of education.

•    Enter your educational history in reverse chronological order (i.e.) it should be entered in the order of your most recent education first and previous educations below.

•    Relevancy is the key factor in writing education section of your CV. Try to look at your CV from the point of view of the employer and pay more attention to listing the courses that are directly or indirectly related to the job for which you are applying.

You can definitely turn your educational qualification as a biggest asset in your CV irrespective of whether you are a graduate or post-graduate or a Ph.D. holder, the way you present the information in your CV will count and you will definitely be odd man out from your competitors when you carefully fill out facts in your curriculum vitae.
